If he just used a tiny bit of the chi to attack Kai, Kai would’ve been able to harness that chi and use it for power. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi and carries them around as amulets, but he didn’t when Po “gave” his chi to Kai. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi to fight with. He wasn’t actually trying to overload him with power, Po was just using the power to kill him. He used his chi as a weapon just like Kai did. But I don’t think people exactly understand it.

One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. Which was the perfect idea for the third installment of this franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. So people might think I’m a little biased on this, but in my opinion, Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. For some reason, DreamWorks decided to spoil the conclusion of the movie in the trailer, along with many other things from the movie. First, I watched the movie before the trailer.
